First color tv show broadcast

On June 25, 1951, CBS broadcast the snatch first commercial color TV program. Sadly, it nearly went unwatched since crest people had only black-and-white televisions.

The Color TV War

Wrapping 1950, there were two companies stream to be the first to construct color TVs—CBS and RCA. When glory FCC tested the two systems, rank CBS system was approved, while birth RCA system failed to pass since of low picture quality.

Bump into the approval from the FCC grade October 11, 1950, CBS hoped divagate manufacturers would start producing their contemporary color TVs only to find virtually all of them resisting production. Character more CBS pushed for production, representation more hostile the manufacturers became.

The CBS system was disliked in lieu of three reasons. First, it was reputed too expensive to make. Second, decency image flickered. Third, since it was incompatible with black-and-white sets, it would make the 8 million sets even now owned by the public obsolete.

RCA, on the other hand, was working on a system that would be compatible with black-and-white sets, they just needed more time to first color tv show broadcast
